Gujarat

Friday, April 27th, 2012

During a short period of two months, this was my second visit to Gujarat. The direct base being Ahmedabad, and then short trips to Denmal and Balasinor, which my accompanies had been to Denmal and Surat.

Ahmedabad and Denmal was a religious visit while Balasinor was a friend’s marriage.

Gujarat progress is real good, with even Volkswagen show rooms in small towns near Ahmedabad, like the one I saw in Mehsana. Well, that’s the power of Dollar and Pounds (as the car driver said to me).

Thats life

Tuesday, March 6th, 2012

There is an old saying, ‘When you smile, the world smiles with you; When you cry, you are alone’.

Yes, thats life and its true too. When you are smiling and happy, everyone around you will smile. When you cry, you will be perfectly alone, no one, yes, no one, not a single soul on the earth will be besides you, whatever be the relationship which you share with anyone in the world, you shall be alone when you cry.

Life goes on.

Shocked

Thursday, March 1st, 2012

This is a belated post, dedicated to my belated mother-in-law.

14th of Feb, the day passed off with peace and love in the air. At night, I got a call from my brother-in-law and called to say that my mother-in-law has passed away in Mumbai. I was shocked. After two mins, I again called him to ask, and reconfirm what he had just said.

Minutes later, I called my family and informed them of it, and all of them rushed to my house at night itself.

My mother in law was scheduled to board the flight of ziyarat of Maqamaat Muqaddasah on 15th Feb at 9am. She fell down in Raudat Tahera complex. Last rites were performed on the same day and were finished off by 1am. The rest of the passengers continued on their scheduled ziyarat.

May Allah grant her peace. Ameen.

We left in a Qualis (7+4) and was a 9hr 30min travel each side with adequate stopovers on way for refreshment and food.

Overall, a superb trip to be long remembered and cherished.

Warora on Bike

Friday, January 6th, 2012

A fortnight ago, I got a call from my friend who was with us in Dubai. Though he just used to meet on some Fridays. Was happy to get a call from him inviting me for marriage of his brother at Warora.

I and another friend, decided to go all the way to Warora (234 Kms from home-to-home) by bike. The road from Nagpur to Warora, going through Nagpur-Chandrapur Highway which is more than half a National Highway — superbly four laned — and the rest being State Highway — which is being converted into four lanes — was simply great. A smooth ride.

While going, we stopped at Jamb and in return, as it was late, we had a stop at Jamb, but could not get anything further to stop.

We were surprised that during the entire run of 234 Kms — on National Highway and State Highway — we did not encounter even a single Patrol Vehicle.

Celebrations: Heartfelt or Routine ?

Saturday, November 26th, 2011

There are many celebrations, which we do every year. Like, celebrating new year, different personal calendars, religious calendars, social calendars. Many of these engagements are also repetitive in nature, some weekly, fortnightly, monthly, quarterly and even yearly.

How many of these do we celebrate with all our heart and mind set to celebrate it ? And, how many of them do we — each individual — celebrate as a routine, celebrating for the sake of celebration ?

One needs to ponder over it.

Hyderabad: I’m impressed

Tuesday, October 18th, 2011

Had been to Hyderabad for two days to attend marriage function of my friend.

We left on Saturday night and were scheduled to return by Monday morning, but trains were cancelled / late due to the Telangana strike and hence returned on Monday evening reaching back on Tuesday Morning.

Except the train cancellation / late running, there we saw no effect of the strike in the life of people living in Hyderabad.

As we had nothing to do on Monday, we made a tourist reservation on Monday and went for Hyderabad Darshan and saw the following:

Birla Temple

H E H Nizam Museum

Chow Mohalla Palace

Salarjung Museum

Charminar (Drive through)

Mecca Masjid (drive through)

Golconda Fort

N T R Garden

Lumbini Park (drive through)

Husain Sagar (drive through).

Overall it was an fantastic trip, we enjoyed every minute of it.

I and my friends, we all were impressed with Hyderabad — the city of Nizams. Nagpur has lot to learn from it, it was clean (despite strike), big roads, traffic manners, regular city bus service, extremely cheap eataries — good quality and quantity also in it and many many more things.

Thursday, July 28th, 2011

I once again went to Moriswala Musafirkhana. The experience was same as earlier. No changes.

Faiz e Qutbi — i found co-operative. I happily paid the charges.
